Bike Ōwairaka is organising a relaxed ride to Onehunga for the Auckland Heritage Festival’s Great Kiwi Brands talk on Sunday 11 October 2026.

The plan

  • Meet at noon at Alan Wood Reserve, Bollard Avenue, near the New North Road end.
  • Ride mainly on shared paths towards Onehunga.
  • The free talk runs from 1–2 pm at Onehunga Community House, 83 Selwyn Street.

What is the talk about?

Phil Sai-Louie explores the history of familiar New Zealand brands. The Council’s Heritage Festival listing confirms the Community House venue and free entry.

Before joining the ride

Check the organiser’s latest listing before leaving. Bring a working bike, helmet, water and a layer for the weather. Confirm the return plan with the group, especially if you are arranging transport or bringing children. Give other shared-path users room and ride at a pace that suits the group.
