ReGear

Join an Eastern Suburbs path-care morning on 11 October: meeting place, time, planned weeding and pruning, and what volunteers should bring.

A couple of hours of practical care can make a shared path more welcoming. Bike Eastern Suburbs has a Love Your Path working bee listed for Sunday 11 October, with volunteers meeting at Sunhill Garden Centre.

When and where

  • Sunday 11 October 2026, 9–11 am.
  • Meet at Sunhill Garden Centre, 317 Saint Johns Road, Auckland.
  • The group plans to work on the path towards Glen Innes.

What the morning involves

The event listing describes weeding and pruning, with possible planting. It is a working bee rather than an organised ride or race.

What to bring

Pack gloves, water and sunscreen. Bring tools if you have them; the listing says some should be available to borrow. A reusable cup is useful if you stay for coffee afterwards.

I would wear comfortable enclosed shoes and clothes I could get dirty. Check the event listing again before travelling, particularly if the weather looks unsettled.
